Paul- I am NJ Certified to teach mathematics in New Jersey but have spent most of my full- time career so far working as a sales engineer in industry. I hold a BS from Rutgers University and an MS from The Georgia Institute of Technology in industrial engineering. I taught mathematics full-time for three years at a high school in central New Jersey from 2003-2006, also teaching their SAT Math elective. I have been tutoring high school level math and SAT math for 8 years part-time and have worked with hundreds of students during that time; many of them were able to improve their math SAT scores significantly. I also taught an algebra and geometry course several years ago as an adjunct instructor at Centenary College. I believe strongly in one-on-one tutoring over classroom or group instruction. My philosophy is it is very important to challenge a student but at the same time tailor the tutoring session to the student’s goals and ability so that they feel comfortable. One-on-one tutoring enables me to provide this positive learning environment.
